照著信中所說,來到了懼腐林的隱蔽營地(巫師傳送陣所在),找到Duality。
"Hail, Dartain"
Dartain "Ah, Yyis! You received my missive!"
"Erus had mentioned that you would be seeing to this matter yourself. Are you not still working on the Shissar Calendar?"
Dartain "I am. However, this issue took precedence for a couple of reasons. Primarily, Firiona is likely instrumental in helping to defeat Kerafyrm, but she has now passed into Ethernere. Knowing more about what is happening there could be the difference between salvation and annihilation."
"Have you been able to get the spire working then? Will it allow us to pass into Ethernere?"
Dartain "I believe it will, yes."
"You believe it will? It hasn't been tested?"
Dartain "No. Ravinus was insistent that we not send just anyone through the portal. For now, the gate is still closed."
"So why are we using this spire? Why not one of the ones closer to the cities?"
Dartain "Ravinus mentioned something about those being "blocked". Some manner of barrier making the crossing there impossible. The spirit wasn't more specific than that, and to be honest, I don't think even he knew why those spires wouldn't work."
"All right, well, what should I do now?"
Dartain "Speak with Ravinus, and be ready. What waits for you beyond, I cannot say."
"What about you, then?"
Dartain "I need to continue my work here, now that the portal is open. I have been attempting to speak with Rikantus about these keys of fate, but I have received few answers. However, I believe I am getting closer to finding something significant. See me again when you come back to Norrath."
"Very well, I will see you then. Farewell."
[92]Shades of Drinal: The Shores of Everafter
-Speak with Ravinus near the Feerrott spires.
"Hail, Ravinus"
Ravinus "Here you are. I've been waiting."
"Well, it is good to see you too, Ravinus."
Ravinus "Enough with your tone. There is much to be done, and time grows ever shorter. The Truespirit have done what they can to help close the holes that have appeared between Norrath and Ethernere, but our efforts will soon be in vain."
"So am I to go to Ethernere, then?"
Ravinus "Of course. Now, you must keep some things in mind when you go."
"What is that?"
Ravinus "You are crossing the veil into your afterlife. You are not meant to be there. I cannot say what will become of you when you cross into that realm."
"I know. I don’t see where I have another choice, though."
Ravinus "You don't. Now, if you are ready, I will activate the spire."
"I guess this is farewell, then?"
Ravinus "Indeed. Norrath's fate is on your shoulders, mortal. You must remember that."
"I will. Let's be off."
從Ravinus身旁的傳送門進入Etherenre的第一張地圖 - Eidolon Jungle。
-Speak with the Steward of Drinal.
"Hail, Drinal's Steward"
Drinal's Steward "Who are you?"
"I am Yyis. Where am I? This looks like Feerrott, but... different somehow."
Drinal's Steward "It is as you perceive it to be. This is Feerrott. Or it is not. Your soul makes it what it is."
"I am confused... am I not in Ethernere?"
Drinal's Steward "You are, mortal, and you should not be. Your soul is still one with your body, and thus, neither should be here."
"Perhaps, but I have no choice. I need to find out why people on Norrath have been dying."
Drinal's Steward "Norrath is in peril. Perhaps more than you realize."
"Why is that?"
Drinal's Steward "What do you know of Ethernere?"
"I know it is the resting place of the souls of Norrath. It is where we go when we pass on from our lives."
Drinal's Steward says to you, "Correct, at least partially. Ethernere is where you await the call of your deities, the place you go before you pass to your final judgment in the hands of your chosen deity. All souls must pass through here before going to their place of rest. All souls." (聽起來像亡者的中途之家)
"It seems that there are a few other souls around here, though. Who are they?"
Drinal's Steward "As I said, all souls must pass through here. Most answer the call of their deities, and move beyond. Others, though, attempt to remain here, or must remain here. These are the Wayward – those with no final rest, no ultimate release."
"Why would some choose to remain?"
Drinal's Steward "They have their own reasons. While it is my job as the Steward of Drinal to ensure that souls pass through to their proper destinations, some can hide here, or can strike bargains to stay. They try to make their own existence here, among the souls of the deceased."
"So… these are Wayward here?"
Drinal's Steward "Most, yes. Fighting for their existence."
"Against who?"
Drinal's Steward "Perhaps you should ask them, and see what they have to say. Talk to Veris Windcall over near the cave path to the shores if you want to know more. When you have finished, come back to me. "
"Hmm... all right. I'll see what is going on here."
-Speak with the one knows as Veris Windcaller and help him.
-Speak to Riishu Sulrel to learn a bit more about Wayward.
"Hail, Drinal's Steward"
Drinal's Steward "Hello again, Rawadar. It seems you've made a few friends here already."
"Perhaps. I had some questions for you, though."
Drinal's Steward "What are they?"
"These Wayward... they seemed to think I was dead – that I was one of them. Why is that?"
Drinal's Steward "The living do not belong here."
"So why let me stay?"
Drinal's Steward "Because Ethernere needs the heroes of Norrath."
"Why is that? The souls of the departed are here, can they not help?"
Drinal's Steward "Not like the living can. While those here have consciousness and can think on their own, they are still merely shades of what they once were. They cannot draw on the same powers that you can, and will not be able to muster the strength necessary to do what needs to be done."
"I see. So what is it that has happened here?"
Drinal's Steward "The impossible."
"I'm... sorry? What do you mean by that?"
Drinal's Steward "As I said, ALL souls come here to Ethernere – even those that are never meant to be here."
"I don’t understand…"
Drinal's Steward "Meet me near the Ashen Tower, in the southern portion of the jungle. I have much to show you."
(1351358963)[Sun Oct 28 01:29:23 2012] You say to Drinal's Steward, "Very well. I will see you there."
[92] Shades of Drinal: Great and Small
-Meet Drinal's Steward at the Ashen Tower.
"Hail, Drinal's Steward"
Drinal's Steward "Welcome to the Ashen Tower."
"What is this place?"
Drinal's Steward "There are many places across Ethernere where Drinal maintains watch using these towers. They not only act as watchtowers, they also are used as reality anchors."
"A reality anchor?"
Drinal's Steward "Correct. Ethernere is malleable. It bends and shapes itself based on the perception of whoever is viewing it. Thus, your Ethernere looks slightly different from everyone else's."
"I see – that's why this looks like the Feerrott? Because I am expecting it to?"
Drinal's Steward "Correct – at least mostly. Your perception molds what you see, although these lands do borrow some of their properties from the places they touch on Norrath. In this case, the Feerrott."
"But you said it was malleable. So it can change?"
Drinal's Steward "It can."
"How is that?"
Drinal's Steward "As I said, these reality anchors help keep their local areas stable, so that they remain as they should. However, these anchors can also be used to dramatically reshape the landscape, if they are somehow compromised."
"And that could happen here?"
Drinal's Steward "It could. The Ashen Tower itself is under attack. If it falls, all of this area would be fundamentally changed."
"And those that could not escape from the Horde through the broken Turbillion could be in danger?"
Drinal's Steward "Indeed. Plus, this would destabilize Ethernere further, and speed up its deterioration."
"Wait... deterioration? What is happening to Ethernere?"
Drinal's Steward "Perhaps you should see what threatens it first. Meet with Zeeil and Nrik - through them, you will begin to understand what has happened to Ethernere. And do not fear Zeeil's appearance – he will not harm you. At least, not yet."
"Not yet, huh? Well, I'll see if there's something I can do to help anyway. Farewell for now."
-Speak with Zeeil, and help him with his troubles at Ashen Tower.
-I should speak with Nrik near the Ashen Tower.
Drinal's Steward "It is good to see you again."
"I admit, I had no idea that Ethernere was in such straights."
Drinal's Steward "Indeed. The very nature of the plane puts it in this terrible position. While the alterable nature of Ethernere is necessary, this kind of intrusion into our realm creates a dangerous situation."
"So is Rallos here, then?"
Drinal's Steward "A portion of his deific energies is here, yes."
"How is that possible?"
Drinal's Steward "It shouldn't be. The gods are not meant to be destroyed, and their energies do not belong in Ethernere. However, it has happened, and the consequences have been dire. "
"Is Rallos what upset the balance of Ethernere?"
Drinal's Steward "Ultimately. His energy needs to be pushed through, so it no longer resides here."
"How will we do that?"
Drinal's Steward "The reality anchors can be used to expel his deific energy, but they need to be attuned properly. If you are willing to help, we can begin the stabilization of Ethernere."
"What should I do?"
Drinal's Steward "His energy teeters on the brink of expulsion. What is left of the God of War is severely weakened and scattered. Together, we can gather the remnants and cast the energy into the Void."
"Wait… the Void?"
Drinal's Steward "Yes. Rallos's energy must be pushed through to its final destination. In this case, the Void. We need to open a ripple between Ethernere and Void."
"Isnt that dangerous?"
Drinal's Steward "Very. But it is necessary. Now that you have properly attuned the Tower of Umber, I can use the reality anchor here to help send him back into the Void by opening a ripple between the two dimensions."
"What do we do once the ripple is opened?"
Drinal's Steward "Rallos's energy must be summoned beneath the ripple. The effect of the Void ripple will draw him in, and we can shut it." (挖坑,推坑,埋坑!)
"How do I summon his energy?"
Drinal's Steward "Find the pieces of his essence that dropped here in the Eidolon Jungle. There is a massive focus for his energy within Oggok - the helm of Rallos Zek. Merge the energy with the helm, and he will be formed somewhere nearby."
"All right. I'll find the essences first, then."
Drinal's Steward "And Rawadar, be careful. The energy of Zek will not want to fall into the Void. It will react violently to what you're doing. Although weakened, it will be strong enough to maintain a hold on this plane. You will have to force it through the ripple."
"Thanks for the warning. I'll return when it is done."
-Locate the pieces of Rallos Zek's essence. ( 8 )
-Merge the energy fragment with the Helm of Rallos Zek in Oggok.
-Defeat the Remnat of Zek on the Zektower.
Drinal's Steward "You've returned."
"And the spirit of Zek has been expelled. Ethernere should be safe once more."
Drinal's Steward "The spirit is indeed expelled, however, Ethernere is not safe. Not yet."
"Wait, I thought that Zek's deific energies were unbalancing the plane?"
Drinal's Steward "They were the final piece, but not the only piece. Rallos was not alone. There is more for you to see."
"Wait, what? How is that possible?"
Drinal's Steward "Remember what happened at the Tower of Umber? How the followers of Fear were trying to change the lands?"
"Yeah, I do. We managed to stop them for now, but they seemed intent on transforming the jungle."
Drinal's Steward "The rest of the jungle, you mean."
"Wait, what? What do you mean "the rest"?"
Drinal's Steward "I will show you. There is a group of creatures not too far from here, up in an area now known as the Fearcreep. It is up the cliff, but shouldn't be too far. Meet with the one known as Gulthga. You might find out something quite surprising."
"Very well. I'll speak to you again once I am done."
[96] Shades of Drinal: Skies of Red
-Seek out the creature known as Gulthga in the Fearcreep.
Gulthga "The fear that permeates the creatures here... I do not smell it on this fleshling, Yulsluu. It gives me no sustenance. It should know its place... I can make it feel fear!"
-Help Gulthga find what is happening in the Fearcreep.
-Speak with the creature know as Yulsluu, and see if you can assist him.
Drinal's Steward "I have been waiting for you. Can you tell me what youve seen?"
"I would never have guessed that fear had taken so much of Etthernere. But how? And why?"
Drinal's Steward "As I said, Ethernere is not what you see. It can be shaped, it can be molded. The followers of Fear took advantage of this, and attempted to make this plane into theirs."
"I'm still confused, though... Are there two Cazic Thules?"
Drinal's Steward "Yes, in a manner of speaking. The deities do not exist as mortals do, thus, the two Thules who battled here are two parts of the same being, yet exist in different reality streams."
"And the one that perished in his world is trying to merge with the one from our world?"
Drinal's Steward "Indeed, to give himself existence again in his own reality. This is why deific energies were never meant to come here - the power of their spirits far exceeds anything in the mortal realm, and can have dangerous effects on the Grey Wastes."
"Baelon is defeated and the Fear Gate is closed, so his plans should be thwarted now."
Drinal's Steward "They are for now, but his energy still resides here, and still unbalances the realm. His energy must be expelled."
"How can I do that?"
Drinal's Steward "There is another Fear Gate inside of the temple. The energy of the Faceless must be forced back through that portal. Once that is done, the portal will be sealed, trapping his energy back in his own realm."
"I'll need to lead him to the portal somehow, and trap him in the room with the Gate."
Drinal's Steward "He knows the presence of his counterpart from your reality. If you can get together a piece of that essence, you might be able to draw him using that. Speak with the amygalians, and see if they have any ideas."
"I'll do that. I'll return once his energy has been pushed back."
-Speak with Gulthga once again.
Gulthga "What is it you want?"
"I've spoken with the Steward of Drinal. We believe we have a way to expel the energy of Cazic back to his own realm, but we need some help."
Gulthga "And why do you think I can help?"
"We need some essence of the Cazic Thule from our existence. We need a piece of something that will attract him to us."
Gulthga "There is little from our realm here, save the few of us."
"Perhaps we can accompany one of you into the temple..."
Gulthga "Never. We will not act as your pathetic bait."
"But unless we expel his energy, Cazic Thule and Norrath are still in jeopardy!"
Gulthga "I am not here at your beck and call. You did what I demanded you do, as a weak mortal should! If you want something from me, you will have to take it!"
"I don’t want to fight you! We save Ethernere and Cazic Thule together!"
Gulthga "Tremble before me, mortal! I will present your broken, terrified soul to the Lord of Fear!"
"This isn't what I want, but if there is no other way... so be it!"
-Enter the Throne of Fear, and seek out the Fear Gate.
-Place Gulthga's remains on the stone near the Fear Gate.
-Drive the Effigy of Fear back into the Fear Gate.
-Return to Drinal's Steward.
Drinal's Steward "I've been waiting for you to return."
"And I have good news. The essence of Cazic Thule was pushed back into the Fear Gate, and the gate has been closed."
Drinal's Steward "A weight upon Ethernere was lifted when the essence passed on."
"Is it done, then? Is Ethernere safe?"
Drinal's Steward "No... no it is not. For as troubled as Ethernere was, the one who oversees it, and tends to it is still wracked with pain."
"What do you mean? Are you speaking of Drinal?"
Drinal's Steward "Yes, Drinal. The Silver Reaper. The one charged with the care and oversight of Ethernere."
"I will admit, from the legends and tales of Ethernere, I had expected to see Drinal when I arrived here. Does he not still tend to the souls who come here?"
Drinal's Steward "He does... or he did. Now, it is my charge to watch over the souls as his steward. Drinal has become more than a simple caretaker of the dead. He has become one with Ethernere."
"Wait… like a deity?"
Drinal's Steward "Exactly. Drinal has ascended, becoming a part of Ethernere as it has become a part of him."
"How is that possible? The other deities created their planes as reflections of themselves. How could Drinal ascend?"
Drinal's Steward "When the other gods left Norrath, they closed off their planes of existence to mortals. The beings of Norrath continued to perish, but their spirits had no final resting place... except Ethernere."
"So the spirits continued to come to Ethernere, then?"
Drinal's Steward "Yes. Unlike the other planes of existence, Ethernere could not be closed. There is an order to the cycle of life, and Ethernere fulfills a vital part of that cycle. Without it, the departed would be unable to pass from Norrath."
"What happened to the spirits when they came here, then?"
Drinal's Steward "Normally, when someone dies on Norrath, they come to Ethernere and are ferried off to their final resting place. It is Drinal's duty to ensure that all spirits are directed to where they are meant to go. However, with the planes closed, the spirits were forced to remain here."
"I see. Go on."
Drinal's Steward "Without anywhere to go, the spiritual energy of Ethernere simply amassed and grew. All of Ethernere became saturated with the energy of the deceased from Norrath, empowering the plane... and its caretaker."
"Ah… Drinal ascended because the plane was overwhelmed."
Drinal's Steward "Indeed. As you said, where most planes are a reflection of their creator, Ethernere instead chose Drinal as its deity, and he became a reflection of it."
"So Drinal didn’t want to be a god?"
Drinal's Steward "That was never his charge. Ethernere is more like Ultera or the Void – a place created to fulfill a necessary function in the multiverse. It was never meant to be overlooked by a deity. However, now, it is."
"And you were appointed as his steward?"
Drinal's Steward "Well, it would be more correct to say that I am bound to serve him through a deal made by Erollisi Marr."
"Wait, what? How did that happen?"
Drinal's Steward "Once, I was known by my mortal name, Calum. Erollisi Marr saw something in me that lead her to forge the deal with Drinal. She knew I believed in love and devotion above all other things, and made the pact on my behalf."
"So how did you end up here?"
Drinal's Steward "Unfortunately, fate intervened, and we were betrayed. As part of the pact with Drinal, I was brought here to serve. However, my story is a long one to tell, and today, the story is not about me."
"Is there no way out of your service?"
Drinal's Steward "No, but I'm not asking to be released. I have found new purpose here in Ethernere, and I am devoted to my charge. I wish to see Ethernere, and Drinal, restored to what they should be. I recognize the importance of this place, and wish to serve it."
"What has become of Drinal? If he is the deity here now, can’t he help mend the damage that’s been done?"
Drinal's Steward "As I said, Drinal is one with the Ethernere, and it is one with him now. As the Grey Wastes go, so does Drinal. He has become a reflection of the damage to this place."
"I’m sorry, I don’t quite understand…"
Drinal's Steward "Perhaps there is more for you to see. However, I am wary about having you go through the tourbillion just yet. I'm not sure what the state of Obol Plains is, and I would rather see it for myself before you go there."
"What should I do, then?"
Drinal's Steward "Return to your reality for now. Let them know what is happening here. Seek me out in Obol Plains when you are ready, and I will show you more of what has happened to Ethernere, and to Drinal."
"All right, well, I want to show the Duality this object I found in Baelon's chambers anyway. I'll meet you in Obol Plains when I've finished."

Riishu Sulrel quest line
"Hail, Riishu Sulrel"
Riishu Sulrel "Ah, hello, friend. New to the afterlife?"
"You could say that. Who are you?"
Riishu Sulrel "My name is Riishu Sulrel. I was once a researcher in the Academy of Arcane Sciences, until... my career took a turn for the worse, so to speak."
"I see. Sounds tragic."
Riishu Sulrel "It was, more than I can say. I am pleased, though, that you seem to recognize your state here in Ethernere. It is good to carry on a cohesive conversation."
"Oh, there are those that don't realize they are dead?"
Riishu Sulrel says to you, "Well, either that or they refuse to acknowledge it, which is easy to understand. I think many of us hold onto our mortal selves quite firmly."
"And you do not?"
Riishu Sulrel "I think death was always something I expected in the back of my mind. I guess in a way, I was prepared for what came. Others are not as prepared. I can show you what I mean."
"How would you do that?"
Riishu Sulrel "Often times, when a confused spirit lands here, they wander somewhat aimlessly until they either are guided to their final planes of existence, or until they come to grips with their new reality and accept it. Until then, however, they can be vulnerable. And now is an especially dangerous time."
"Why is that?"
Riishu Sulrel "The Horde is dragging off any spirit they can get their hands on. These lost spirits make easy targets, since they rarely defend themselves. We want to save those spirits if we can."
"What should I do?"
Riishu Sulrel "Ah, willing to help so quickly? I like that. Well, search on the shores... that's where the spirits in the most danger will be. Just gently "nudge" them back this way. And if there's any Horde nearby, you'd be best served to dispatch them first."
"Understood. I'll come back when I've finished."

-Rescue lost Wayward spirits. (4)
"Hail, Riishu Sulrel"
Riishu Sulrel "Welcome back, intrepid adventurer."
"And hello again, Riishu. I was able to find some of the lost spirits. They definitely seemed like they were completely unaware of what was happening around them. I'm just glad I could point them back this way."
Riishu Sulre "And it is a good thing that you did, too. Those spirits would be lost to us if not for your efforts."
"What happens to them?"
Riishu Sulrel "Only Drinal knows right now. All I can tell you is that they are lost, never to return. Unfortunately, without help, many of these will keep wandering, and eventually find their way back out into the Horde's clutches."
"How might we do that?"
Riishu Sulrel "We'll need to collect a few minor items from around the jungle here. Many of these items will be mementos from Norrath – things that might be familiar to them."
"How will that help them?"
Riishu Sulrel "It will help them to focus. Help them to remember who they were in their past life, and ultimately, their death. You'll need to help guide them back into their sanity, however – they are still lost right now, and bringing them about will not be easy."
"So, gather the items, show it to the lost spirits that I find, and try to talk them into coming around?"
Riishu Sulrel "Indeed. It will be difficult, but if they run off, just look for them once again. They won't remember the conversation, even if you do."
"All right, I'll see what I can do. Farewell. "
[92] Proper Direction
-I should search for the lost spirits out in the Lightshadow Undergrowth.

--Look for a lost soul near the second Tsol Ew camp.
--Look for a lost soul near the third Tsol Ew camp.
"Hail, Riishu Sulrel"
Riishu Sulrel "And how went your search?"
"Well, I was able to find three souls out there, and as you can see, I directed them back here to the camp. Hopefully those here can help them understand what has become of them."
Riishu Sulrel "Usually, once the spirits have had time to cope with the shock of their reality, they acclimate quickly. You've done well, and helped many people here. Now I'm hoping you can help one more."
"Oh? And who is that?"
Riishu Sulrel "Me. I need your assistance."
"Wait, why? You seem to be doing fine."
Riishu Sulrel "I am. However... someone close to me is not."
"What's happening?"
Riishu Sulrel "My wife is lost. I am hoping you can help me. I want to have her back with me."
"Well, you seem to be knowledgeable about what to do with those that have been lost. Why not go find her?"
Riishu Sulrel "I have tried. When I see her, something happens. She can't come to grips with what happened, and when she sees me... she isn't herself."
"I see. What happened?"
Riishu Sulrel "I have no desire to recount the horrors of the end of my life. Suffice it to say that when the Overlord deems you to be some manner of threat to his rule, it's more than just you that can suffer."
"Ah... Sir Lucan had you both killed?"
Riishu Sulrel "Indeed. And I'm afraid that the trauma of our deaths might have been too much for my poor Lania. I'd like to bring her back to me, but I believe that seeing me brings back her terror of the final moments."
"All right, well, I'll see if perhaps I can find her, then. Wait here."

Riishu Sulrel "I felt her coming back. I cannot thank you enough for returning her to me. I will have to try to explain to her where we are and what happened, but I will do that myself. For now, your work here is done. Thank you."
"And farewell to you, Riishu."

Wait here."
[92] Stronger Than Death
-Find Riishu's wife.
(note: Lania超脆弱,能EV可以直接EV。如果Lania又掛掉的話,去第二個找到她的點重新對話就可以繼續任務。)
Hail, Riishu Sulrel"
Riishu Sulrel "You've returned!"
"And I have Lania with me."
Riishu Sulrel "I felt her coming back. I cannot thank you enough for returning her to me. I will have to try to explain to her where we are and what happened, but I will do that myself. For now, your work here is done. Thank you."
"And farewell to you, Riishu."

Veris Windcall quest line
"Hail, Veris Windcall"
Veris Windcall "Ah, I knew you would show up sooner or later. I'm sure you're still disoriented, and I'm sorry to drag you into this so quickly, but times are dire."
"I'm not disoriented at all. Tell me what I can do to help."
Veris Windcall "It is good that you have accepted your fate so quickly. I apologize that there is no time to explain everything now, but we must return to the beach and assist the defenders there before our front is lost. I promise all will be revealed to you in time."
"Alright. How may I be of service?"
Veris Windcall "The Horde has been pressing a steady assault upon us for days now, but recently their attacks have ebbed... I fear they are planning an even larger push. Our defenders are worn out and stretched thin. I need you to take over the task of hampering the Horde scouts and sending back any injured defenders you find along the shore, while we prepare our defenses."
"Those scouts won't know what hit them."
[92] Storm on the Horizon
-Kill Harrowing Hords scouts. ( 8 )
-Rescue injured Wayward defenders. ( 6 )
"Hail, Veris Windcall"
Veris Windcall "How are you doing, Rawadar? Senses still about you?"
"Yes, I feel fine, why do you ask?"
Veris Windcall "You may have noticed that our friends you sent back here were not physically injured. They probably appeared lost, though they were only a stone's throw from our camp. Too much exposure to the Harrowing Horde seems to have this effect on most souls."
"You could have warned me before I rushed out there!"
Veris Windcall "I'm sorry I did not fully explain the situation, Rawadar, but as I said before, we have little time. While it is true that the Horde's presence corrupts, its efficacy is altered by the victim's constitution. Not all of these folks were warriors in their past lives."
"Why is the Horde attempting to capture your people?"
Veris Windcall "We have not yet been able to determine that. We know that once touched, the victims become disoriented. Sometimes they are left in this state, and sometimes the Horde pulls them into their rifts, never to be seen again. What they do with them there, we can only presume."
"That does sound worse than death."
Veris Windcall "Aye, this is why we must prepare these defenses for the next onslaught. It will be a probing attack to find our weakest points. I will bolster the attacks from the west. You must press back on the northern and seaward fronts; do not allow them to find a weak point!"
"That sounds easy enough."
Veris Windcall "Do not become too overconfident if this fight goes well; remember, this is not their main force. I would entrust you with one further task as well, if you think you can handle it."
"What is that?"
Veris Windcall "In addition to bolstering our defenses, I need a new arrival to recover the power crystals from the reality anchors scattered about the beach. The Horde has damaged most of these devices, but some of our engineers have been hastily crafting new ones. If you can retrieve a good number of crystals, we'll be able to power those up."
"Why a new arrival? What is a reality anchor?"
Veris Windcall "Goodness but you ask a lot of questions! The anchors are... oh no, they're here! Get to the beach, Rawadar. Get those crystals, and drive back the Horde!"
"I'll do what I can."
[92] Shore Defense
-Activate reality anchors after freeing them from the Horde. ( 4 )
-Collect power crystals taken by the harrowing siphoners. ( 30 )
"Hail, Veris Windcall"
Veris Windcall "It is a miracle you arrived here when you did, Rawadar. I do not think we could have held even that wave back without you. I regret that I will be unable to aid you directly for the final assault, but we are being pressed on two fronts, and I am confident in your abilities. Now, did you recover those crystals? You must get the defenses set up!"
"I did, and I will get right on that."
Veris Windcall "Good to hear. I only hope the engineers have the anchors restored before the next Horde assault. We're going to need all the tricks we've got!"
"What is our next move?"
Veris Windcall "Given their previous patterns, I expect the next attack to be three-pronged. They will once again come from the north and west ends of the beach, as well as up out of the water. They will probably advance slowly and in large groups, and strategic use of the reality anchors will be vital. Are you up to the task of placing those, Rawadar?"
"I seem to be the most qualified."
Veris Windcall "By quite a margin, I'd say. The anchors can be placed anywhere you please, but they are limited in number, so I would give some thought to their locations. There are three types available; would you like me to explain their function?"
"Please tell me about the spirit anchor." (以下三個anchor的說明可以跳過直接繼續任務)
Veris Windcall "Spirit anchors link our consciousness back to the realm of the living. These are the most dangerous anchors for us, since they instill a longing to return to the world. I cannot say what they convey to the Horde, but they must be abominable. Most members who wander too close to these anchors are overcome with a desire to destroy them. They are useful for drawing the Horde away from vulnerable locations."
Veris Windcall "The soul is a being's... "physical" manifestation within Ethernere. Linking it to the realm of the living acts as... well, as an anchor. It will make movement difficult for those in its vicinity."
Veris Windcall "Physical anchors are the simplest of the bunch. They link the senses back to our former plane, and cause the recipient to once again see, smell, hear, and feel the world as we knew it. As the Harrowing Horde have never existed outside of Ethernere, these anchors can be devastating to them, gifting them with a sensation they've never before experienced... pain."
"Time is running out, I'd better get these placed now."
Veris Windcall "Alright, we've got two of each anchor ready for you, and the engineers may be able to supply you with additional anchors as the battle progresses. Remember that the Horde will come from both ends of the beach and from the ocean itself. Set the anchors up where you see fit, then signal me back here."
"I will."
[92] Tidal Waves
-Place the reality anchors, then return to Veris.
-Defeat the Horde invasion ( 50 )
(note: anchor可以隨便放,mob會從防守陣地前方海灘的三個方向來襲,如果自己DPS不太夠力的話,anchor放的好可以比較輕鬆。
note: anchor用完可以跟防守陣地內的地精要。)
"Hail, Veris Windcall"
Veris Windcall "I just received the reports! We've dealt with our fair share of attacks from the Harrowing Horde, but I have never before heard of the species that lead this attack. The prospect worries me. If we have only seen their foot soldiers, what awaits us when they decide to exert real effort?"
"Best not to dwell on it. The beach appears safe from the Horde for now."
Veris Windcall "Again, I am thankful that you arrived when you did. The engineers should be able to keep enough anchors active to repel the remaining Horde for now. But even the dead see no rest. We must turn our attention to the lizardmen, who have already set up a camp nearby and are running attacks on our ill-defended southern front."
"Is this a new occurrence?"
Veris Windcall "Actually, we have only just arrived here ourselves. I fear we are the invaders in this land, pressing into lizardman territory. All attempts to treat with them have resulted in the death of our diplomats. Nothing permanent, but it is an unpleasant experience nonetheless."
"I don't need a reason to kill lizardmen. Point me to them!"
Veris Windcall "You've already helped us more than we can hope to repay you for, but if you're up for more, we need you to eliminate the lizardman camp at the southern edge of the jungle. Removing the fortifications there will cripple their ability to harass us, as well as provide us with a staging area to press onward to the Tourbillion."
"I will slay them all, if necessary."
[92] Pushing Forward
-Slay hostile lizardmen at the southern camp. ( 8)
"Hail, Veris Windcall"
Veris Windcall "You've managed to drive them all back? You are a force to be reckoned with, Rawadar. Here, take these supplies south and assist the others in setting up camp. I will meet you there with further instructions shortly."
"Affirmative."
-Transport supplies to the new southern camp.
Veris Windcall "Good work! This place almost feels livable, and the lizardmen deeper in the jungle have backed off for the time being."
"That is welcome news."
Veris Windcall "Our next order of business is clearing a path to the Tourbillion so that we can take our leave of this death-forsaken jungle. I've sent some scouts ahead to determine what dangers await us, but they have not yet reported back. You've proven you can handle yourself; would you mind venturing deeper into the jungle and determining the holdup?"
"Certainly. Where, exactly, were they headed? I'm not familiar with this "Tourbillion"."
Veris Windcall "Tourbillions appear to most as large whirlpools, descending deeper than the surrounding substrate, and mesmerizing to behold. They are portals through which souls may pass in order to access other areas of Ethernere. Initial reports placed this one in the dead region just south and west of here."
"That seems simple enough. I will find your missing scouts."
[92] Emergency Exit
-Find Veris' missing scouts.
Ely Havensaft "..."
"Hey, are you one of Veris' scouts?"
Ely Havensaft "Shh, keep your voice down, or we'll be captured as well! Yes, I am part of Veris' group. My name is Ely, who are you? I do not recognize your face."
" My name is Rawadar. Veris sent me to find you. Why haven't you reported back in?"
Ely Havensaft " We thought this area would be safe... relatively speaking.. But the Harrowing Horde have invaded it! They captured my three allies, and have been hunting for me ever since. I dare not leave this hiding spot, yet some effort must be made to rescue them! Do you think you could sneak back to Veris and request aid?"
"I can do better than that. You return to Veris with you report as soon as I have them distracted. I will deal with the Horde."
-Free the captured scouts. ( 3 )
Veris Windcall "Ely filled me in on your exploits. Your braveery is commendable, and I'm sure those you rescued will want to thank you in person once they're back from their current missions, but for now please accept my thanks."
"You are welcome. I'm glade I could help"
Veris Windcall "I do not know what is happening with the Tourbillion, but we need to clear the way to it as quickly as possible! The scouts reported strange activity surrounding it, but were unable to get close. Can you investigate it, and clear out any hostile creatures that may have taken up residencee there?"
"Certainly."
[92] Only Way Out
-Investigate the Tourbillion.
-Defeat Harrowing Horde that are draining the Tourbillion.
"Hail, Veris Windcall"
Veris Windcall "You've returned unscathed. Is it safe to make our trek to the Tourbillion?"
"The area has been overrun by the Harrowing Horde. I was able to clear out those surrounding the Tourbillion, but it appears to have been drained of its power."
Veris Windcall "What?? The Horde have... they've drained it?! I do not know if those can be re-empowered. This does not bode well... my people are hanging on by a thread of hope, but without the Tourbillion... One chance remains to us. There is another Tourbillion, further east into the jungle, but I fear we would not survive that journey."
"As before, I could help clear the path for you."
Veris Windcall "That is a generous offer, Rawadar, but I must let my people rest up awhile before I put that decision to them. We would love for you to remain with us, but I sense that you would not be content here for long. Should you find yourself wandering, your spirit unfulfilled, you are always welcome here."
Veris Windcall "Ah, I knew you would show up sooner or later. I'm sure you're still disoriented, and I'm sorry to drag you into this so quickly, but times are dire."

Zeeil quest line
"Hail, Zeeil"
Zeeil "Your coming was not unexpected. We see all that The Steward does, and seek to aid him as we can. Instead he has sent you to aid us. He is not wrong to presume that we need help. Our power is... flickering."
What exactly are you talking about?"
Zeeil "Forgive me, live one. I am getting ahead of myself; my thoughts become muddled too easily now. My name is Zeeil, and my purpose and duty here is to protect Ethernere and see that souls are properly escorted to their destinations. But order has been disrupted, and we are unable to restore it ourselves."
"What disrupted the order here, and why are you unable to restore it?"
Zeeil "We are Gehein... part of the Harrowing Horde, as many refer to us. We were chosen by Drinal to remain on this plane, serving as caretakers and guardians. We are inextricably tied to Ethernere; we share its fate. And the plane itself has become infected. It now contains an energy too great to hold, and it chokes under its own weight. This energy clouds our minds and... turns us."
"Turns you? Are you referring to the Harrowing Horde I fought on the beach? They were attacking peaceful souls."
Zeeil "Yess! They are... they were, my brothers. But like the plane itself, they have become twisted by this energy. So many are twisted, and now I feel the pull, strong in my mind, to join them. I must not... lose myself. Not all Gehein are made to serve. Some of us chose this existence. Chose to remain with Ethernere, and guard her from all threats. And we are losing."
"What is this energy you keep mentioning?"
Zeeil "I am unsure of its true form. A being... a being of power beyond comprehension. Its soul does not belong in Ethernere; it never should have come here. Whatever it is, it has incited the ogres to assault this tower. As our powers wane, it is all we can do to hold them back. But too few of us remain. We may be the last..."
"I'm still vague on the details, but I was told to trust you. How can I help?"
Zeeil "The ogre forces are too numerous for us to hold alone. If you can cull them down to more reasonable numbers, it would aid us greatly. Additionally, they have been damaging the spiritual attuners on this tower. We need those repaired before they can make any modifications to them."
"Why was this tower targeted, and why ogres?"
Zeeil "Oggok exists here, as it does in your plane, a manifestation of the ogres' collective memory of their home. Most ogre souls eventually find their way there, if they do not move on. Previously they spent their time much as they did in life, and coexisted with the other inhabitants here. But as soon as that powerful being entered Ethernere... they turned on us. There is something about... that energy..."
"If we can discover the identity of that being, perhaps we can find a way to quell the ogres. In the meantime, I will drive them back as best I can."
[92] Last of Our Kind
-Slay Oggok invaders ( 8 )
-Collect broken pieces of the spiritual attuners. ( 6 )
-Repair the spiritual attuners. ( 4 )
"Hail, Zeeil"
Zeeil "You have pushed back... have you not? Was that you? You are not... welcome here!"
"Woah, what? Are you ok?"
Zeeil "I am... not. The images in my mind, they come and go. At times I cannot determine what is real. I imagine it is much the same for you, here in Ethernere. I apologize; this must not make sense to you."
"Not really, no."
Zeeil "You know the fate which befalls us. We become ravenous, mindless. I feel the pull within myself. Unbearable urges to... remove you from this plane, even when logic warns me that you may be the one hope we have. I must resist!"
"How have you and the other Gehein here resisted for so long?"
Zeeil "Each of the castes within the Harrowing Horde performs its own function. You have doubtless seen the Screechers, who sweep an area to warn us of irregularities; and the Tirun Enforcers, who are unmatched combatants. For all their utility, they do not have minds of their own."
"You're saying the Horde share a hive-mind?"
Zeeil "Is that what you call it? We are all of a single mind, and yet the Gehein alone are able to process thoughts and emotions outside of this. We do not possess heightened senses, nor great strength, but it is we who oversee and make the critical decisions our brothers cannot. Our intellect and detachment from the plane are what have allowed us to resist the madness."
"Can you continue to hold out against its influence?"
Zeeil "I... think so. Speaking with you, setting goals... it helps keep my mind intact. We should plot our next move against the ogres. A single defeat will not hold them back."
"You said the ogres are based out of Oggok to the north. We could take the fight to them!"
Zeeil "Yes. An assault on Oggok itself would cripple the ogres' offensive capabilities, and might prove enlightening as well. If you can determine the identity of the soul that has them enraged, we may be able to purge it. Be sure the damage you cause them is lasting..."
"I will."
[92] War Machines
-Slay Oggok warbringers. ( 5 )
-Destroy ogre weapon caches. ( 6 ) (聽說這個武器圖改了4天才改好,這必須要記錄!)
-Destroy ogre forges. ( 3 )
Zeeil "That was quicker than expected. Your powers on this plane grow."
"That they do. I eliminated a number of their raid leaders and disrupted their ability to forge new weapons. They should be unable to mount a new assault for some time."
Zeeil "That is good news. But it does not bring us closer to identifying the source of Ethernere's infection. Several more of my brethren have succumbed to the madness. You did not discover anything new within their camp?"
"Actually, the ogres kept mentioning... Hmm. I need to head back and check this out to be sure."
Zeeil "As you will, Rawadar. But hurry. Time grows short."
"I'll be quick."
[93] Fallen Idol
-Find and destroy the Rallosian Idol.
-Defeat battlepriest Tamoko Wrathboon.
Zeeil "The entity... I can feel it. Presence... unbalancing. I know it... it is on the tip of my consciousness..."
"It is Rallos Zek. He was slain in his own plane, and his spirit must have come here."
Zeeil "Merciful Drinal! That... that cannot be! Gods do not truly die. And yet, so much is explained. If the God of War's spirit is truly here, the ogres may have been acting to manifest him. Have I already explained to you the function of this tower? I cannot remember. So hard to... remember."
"You have not explained it."
Zeeil "Ethernere, by default, is mostly formless. It is shaped by the expectations of its inhabitants, and may appear completely different to two individuals. This tower, and the countless others like it, act as conduits for Drinal's formative spiritual energy. Typically they create a shared reality that mirrors your plane, so as to prevent confusion to new souls that find themselves here."
"But then why would the ogres want to destroy this one? Isn't it helping maintain Oggok?"
Zeeil "I do not believe destruction was their ultimate intent. I think they meant to re-align it. The towers could be set up to channel energy from another plane, for instance. That would explain..."
"Explain what?"
Zeeil "The soul of Rallos is not the only energy surge Ethernere has experienced. There was another, and with it came strange changes that only now begin to make sense to me. To the east, just before the land rises, some of my brothers have been struggling with another tower. Helping them will open your eyes..."
"Okay, I will seek them out."
[93] Fearful Lands
-Speak to a Gehein at the next Tower of Drinal.
Giirn "It is... ahh! So many spider webs and... you, wait. I was told... help."
"Are you ok? Zeeil sent me to help you."
Giirn "Help... yes. I heard of your coming. The tower... overrun. My brothers are gone."
"Wait, where are the rest of you?"
Giirn "Zeeil did not sense it? How strange... His mind must be... going. The madness has taken them. I am all that remains."
"Tell me how to save you."
Giirn "It is... too late for me. But you can save the tower. It has been... tainted. It no longer focuses the power of Drinal. It has a new master. Those who occupy it do not belong here. Send them from Ethernere, then return to me."
"I'll do that."
-Slay the invaders within the Tower of Drinal. ( 10 )
Giirn "The tower. Is it free from... their grasp?"
"Yes, I have cleared out the tower."
Giirn "Nnnooo... they continue to... stream forth! Do you see now? What our arrogance has wrought!"
"The creatures coming from the tower, and the land surrounding it... it looked like the home of Cazic Thule. It looked like the plane of Fear."
Giirn "Your eyes have... opened. The tower was tainted by the lizardmen. The presence of Cazic's spirit has... twisted them. You must help Zeeil! You must not let the corruption spread!"
"Wait, Cazic's spirit? I thought it was Rallos who had come here? Cazic Thule is not dead. Giirn? Giirn, answer me!!"
Giirn "This... nnnnoo-aaaaagggghhhh!"
-Speak to Zeeil at the western Tower of Drinal.
Zeeil "No need to explain, Rawadar. I felt him go. Strange that I did not feel the turning of the others. I will not share that fate!"
"We must work quickly to ensure you do not."
Zeeil "You have now seen what becomes of Ethernere when the attuning anchors in our towers are tampered with. We must restore them and prevent the invasion of Fear!"
"Giirn said Cazic's spirit was in Ethernere as well. How can that be, when Cazic is still alive?"
Zeeil "There is much that is difficult for your mind to grasp. You see Ethernere in three dimensions, connected to your reality as if by a strand. But imagine that this same strand connects to a multitude of planes, many of which share the same characteristics as yours."
"I'm not sure I understand."
Zeeil "Why did I not see this sooner? The lizardmen were much more quick to mobilize than the ogres, and began channeling Fear's energy into this plane almost immediately after... I should have linked these events. But my mind was too... addled to make the connection."
"You aren't making much sense. Will any of this help us restore the anchor?"
Zeeil "Alas it is not so easy. I fear the scales may already have been irrevocably tipped... our plane is so weak now..."
"Zeeil! Snap out of it! Tell me how to fix the anchors."
Zeeil "Ah yes. You've restored anchors like this one before, though much smaller in scale. And, as before, you will need a crystal attuned to a non-damaged anchor. This I can provide you; however, unlike the previous anchors, you're going to have to reassemble the core and power it up."
"That sounds complex."
Zeeil "It will not be simple, but I believe it is within your capabilities. If you can locate and reassemble the shattered pieces of the core, and expose them to enough non-tainted spiritual energy, they should meld back together on their own. Such energy could be... attained from... soullights that inhabit the region. My mind..."
"Hold it together, Zeeil. I'll restore the anchor!"
[93] Power to the Tower
-Collect soullight essences. ( 6 )
-Collect shattered pieces of the Tower of Drinal's core. ( 5 )
-Repair the core using the shattered pieces and soullight essences.
-Defend the Tower
Zeeil "You have... stopped the spread of Fear. I am... grateful."
"Stopped the spread? Shouldn't that tower reverse the effects?"
Zeeil "Tower you... restored. Was on the edge... corruption. The other is... cannot be saved. Not without the rest of my brothers could we... reverse. My mind is ever weak. Go now, back to the Steward. His mission... guide you."
"Good luck, Zeeil. I hope we will meet again."

Nrik quest line
要先和Zeeil對話過才能開始接Nrik的任務。
"Hail, Nrik"
Nrik "I'm sorry, I didn't see you come up. I must ask you not to bother me though."
"Is something the matter? What's wrong?"
Nrik "I keep seeing a group of lizardmen that seemed to be lurking around just outside of the parameter here. They seemed to be investigating the area, but I never get a good look at them."
"There's a lot of hunting parties near here. They might just be patrollers."
Nrik "No, I don't think this was a simple hunting party. They look to me like they have a purpose, like they are looking for something. Whatever it is, they are definitely interested in the Ashen Tower."
"Hmm... maybe I should see if I can find them, then. Perhaps I can figure out what they are up to."
Nrik "Well, be careful. I don't know of any of the Tsol Ew that are very friendly."
"I've dealt with them before. I'll be all right. Wait here, and I'll see what I can find out."
[92] Circumstantial Evidence
-Seek out the patrolling group of Tsol Ew.
-Follow the leader to see where he went.
-Search the camp for any evidence of their activities.
"Hail, Nrik"
Nrik "Did you find the scouts yet?"
"I believe that I did. And I found something else."
Nrik "What did you find?"
"These crystals. I’ve seen them before, on the shores nearby here. I used them to help set up barriers to keep back the Horde attacking a Wayward camp up that way. Could they be used for something similar here?"
Nrik"Mmm... perhaps. You should take these to Kuule out near the Tower of Umber. This would be something she should see. If the creatures are stalking this tower, then they will likely be doing the same to that one. Kuule needs to know the threat."
"I understand. All right, I'll make my way over there when I can and show these to her."
-Speak with Kuule in the Umbral Tower.
"Hail, Kuule Vilehammer"
Kuule Vilehammer "You have a strange smell. You do not belong here."
"I am here at the favor of the Steward of Drinal. In my efforts to help, I came across a group of Tsol Ew not too far from here. According to Nrik, you might be interested in their activities... but things don't look too good here already."
Kuule Vilehammer "The Tower of Umber is no more. It has fallen."
"How did this happen?"
Kuule Vilehammer "We do not know. However, we do know that creatures of Fear now guard it."
"I see. I think I know what might have happened – the Tsol Ew must have overtaken it, and used crystals like these to change the tower's reality."
Kuule Vilehammer "You found these among the Tsol Ew?"
"We did."
Kuule Vilehammer "Strange. The Tsol Ew never threatened us before. I do not know why they would begin now."
"It seems that they might be planning to take the Ashen Tower as well, too. I believe the party I came upon when I found these were scouting the tower."
Kuule Vilehammer "If the Ashen Tower were to fall to Fear, so would Eidolon Jungle. It must be stopped."
"Well, the ones who did this must still be out there. I'll see if I can collect more information from the nearby Tsol Ew. I'll return soon."
[93] Mistaken Identity
-Defeat Tsol Ew scarhunters to find evidence of their activities.
-Put the etchings together.
-It looks like a summoning ritual of some kind. Return to Kuule to tell her with what you discovered.
Kuule Vilehammer "It is you."
"Hello again, Kuule. I believe I've found something that might be useful to us!"
Kuule Vilehammer "What is it?"
"It seems that the Tsol Ew are indeed planning an assault on the Ashen Tower. I found a few scraps of dried skin here with some writings on them... it looks like a ritual."
Kuule Vilehammer "A ritual? Why do you think that a ritual would indicate an assault on the Ashen Tower? The culture of the Tsol Ew is a ritualistic one. This could be many things."
"It could be, but it appears to be a summoning ritual."
Kuule Vilehammer "Fools. What could they hope to achieve with such an act? They cannot hope to pull something into Ethernere that does not belong. It is not possible."
"Of course it is. *I* am here, so are many others. The cloak of Ethernere is weak now, and many entities can pass through. In fact, I think you know the problem is worse than you’re admitting."
Kuule Vilehammer "You presume too much."
"Do I? I've seen a lot of strange creatures since I arrived here, but the ones nearby do not look as if they belong here. It's like Fear itself has tried to invade it. You can't tell me you can't see this."
Kuule Vilehammer "..."
"We may not have much time. WE need to find a way to destroy the creature they summon before it is summoned."
Kuule Vilehammer "They cannot summon it. It is not necessary."
"Argh... I guess I will handle this myself. I need to just find where the rituals are being held, and hopefully I can stop them."
-Find the ritual site.
-Kill the Tsol Ew dreadcallers.
-Kill the summoned creature.
-Return to Kuule
Kuule Vilehammer "You have returned."
"Yes, yes I have. And I have faced what you deemed to be impossible. The creature that the Tsol Ew summoned has fallen. However, there was a danger, and you need to acknowledge it."
Kuule Vilehammer "There is nothing to acknowledge. Ashen Tower is safe."
"It is because of MY actions! You refused to do anything."
Kuule Vilehammer "I did what I needed to. I pointed those who were capable to handle the problem to where they needed to go."
"Wait… what? You knew all along?"
Kuule Vilehammer "I set you on your path. We are weakened as we are, and if I had assisted, I could have been overtaken as well. It was best that you went alone, and with purpose."
"You could have just told me that! I am willing to help!"
Kuule Vilehammer "Perhaps, but what was necessary is now done."
"Well... not entirely done yet."
Kuule Vilehammer "What do you mean?"
"That strange lizardman I found... he's still out there somewhere. I have a feeling he is instrumental in this, and I don't think these towers are safe as long as he is free."
Kuule Vilehammer "You intend to hunt him down, then?"
"I do. It's a big jungle though, and I'm not sure where to start looking."
Kuule Vilehammer "I doubt he will be hiding. His mission is to overtake that tower. Their first plan failed, but he will likely be recruiting for another. Where the Tsol Ew live is where he will be."
"All right, I'll see what I can find."
[94] Guilty as Charged
-Search for evidence at the Tsol Ew camps.
-The strange lizerdman is definitely nearby - find him and defeat him.
(note: 一點都不近..)
-Return to Kuule
Kuule Vilehammer "Were you able to find the lizardman?"
"I was. He was hard to track down, but I found him recruiting more Tsol Ew."
Kuule Vilehammer "Then he will trouble us no longer."
"HE will not, but there will be others, I am certain. Someone has an agenda to take over these towers, so you'll need to be vigilant."
Kuule Vilehammer "We will do our best to watch out for those creatures again. I will do what I can to ensure that the towers do not fall."
"Well, best of luck to you. Farewell, Kuule."
"Hail, Nrik"
Nrik "I'm sorry, I didn't see you come up. I must ask you not to bother me though."

Gulthga quest line
"You do not scare me. The Steward has sent me here to assist you, though I do not see how."
Gulthga "That is new. Your kind lacks the requisite auditory refinements to discern our speech. How is it that you communicate with me in perfect Thulian?"
"Let's cut to the chase, Gul. You need help and I'm offering."
Gulthga "I will provide you with a blood ruby in which to trap the essence of fear. It must be applied to a creature of our plane before you sever their connection to Ethernere. Once the gem is filled, collect several branches of Fearwood and attach the gem at the end. This rod can divine the true nature of our master's creations."
"I am unfamiliar with this type of magic. Shouldn't you operate the rod?"
Gulthga "No. It will bind to the one who assembles it, and that necessitates your exertion. Prognosticate what you can, my servant. Do not fail me in this!"
"Careful there. I'm doing this as a favor to you."
[93] Fear Itself
-Use the blood ruby to link to Fear creatures, then kill them to absorb their essence. ( 9 )
-Collect Fear tree branches. ( 3 )
-Combine the blood ruby and branches into a rod.
-Analyze several fearstruck soullights.
-Analyze several shiverback gorillas.
-Analyze several feargaze creepers.
-Analyze several dreadoozes.
-Analyze several insidious fearlings.
Gulthga "What have you discovered, tasteless one? Were you capable of interpreting the rod's impulses?"
"I was. And you were right to be confused. Not all of these creatures of Fear hail from the same realm."
Gulthga "Your attempt to confuse me is for naught, morsel. Not only am I physically superior to your kind, my mental capabilities surpass yours tenfold! But just to be clear... since your phrasing was that of a lesser being... what do you mean they are not from the same realm?"
"Unbelievable. I will attempt to explain so that your... extremely large brain can take it all in: These creatures are not all from the same Fear plane. Some of them are much more ancient, more primitive than others."
Gulthga "Primitive... that does make sense... The presence we feel here, it is Cazic, untouched by the turmoil of your plane. Centuries younger. This should fill me with devotion, but instead I feel a sense of... I do not know this feeling, nor do I like it."
"Is it dread you feel?"
Gulthga "Impossible! Amygdalans cannot feel fear, we are the very children of Fear! We... must discover the agenda of this ancient spirit. I call upon you once again, most lowly servant. You will travel to the Fear Gate and treat with the lizardmen there. Discover what orders they have from this Cazic, and why we are being pulled into Ethernere!"
"Lucky for you, this interests me as well."
[94] Thule vs. Thule
-Travel to the Fear Portal.
-Speak to a lizardman. (用你的拳頭跟他講。)
-Slay lizardmen worshippers. ( 3 )
-Investigate the Fear Portal. (雖然遠遠就可以摸到portal,但要站的夠近對話才會繼續
a distant voice "... and take heed, my most trusted servants. The Fear will cleanse the land and create a paradise of terror. My second coming is close at hand..."
"[The voice echoes through my head more than my ears. I should keep "listening".]"
a distant voice "... but I require a further test of your devotion. The intruders who destroyed our efforts to harness Fear's energy must be stopped, and all who aid them must be slain! Do not fail..."
"[I'm not sure how I know this, but the "voice" belongs to Cazic Thule! But not the one I am familiar with...]"
a distant voice "... all creation will be ours! Redouble your efforts! Set the towers to absorb this second aspect of my plane. Absorb the impostor god, and his power shall be mine! I will show..."
"[Does this mean what I think it does? I have to hear this final bit!]"
a distant voice "... I have bestowed my gift upon one of your own. Serve him as you would serve me. Go now... and herald in a new age of Fear!"
"[The voice has gone silent, though the lizardmen continue to worship, as if transfixed by it.]"
Gulthga "You bear the signs of battle. The lizardmen were unwilling to liaise with you, then? I suspected they would be difficult. I hope you did not return empty-handed?"
"I am not your servant, Gulthga, and you would do well to stop addressing me as such. Regardless of the lizardmen's failure to speak to me, I attained some very troubling information."
Gulthga "You will relinquish it to me!"
"As you wish... an ancient spirit of Cazic is directing the lizardmen to absorb your plane of Fear into this dimension. In doing so, he will also absorb the power of your Cazic Thule. This is why the lizardmen and other Fear creatures have been hostile to you. They know you will attempt to thwart their plans."
Gulthga "This infuriates me, fleshling! The lizardmen would slay my creator, and yet my hands are bound against them. I cannot harm another of Cazic's children. But you can. And you wish to, I have seen it in your eyes. You can act as Cazic's, the TRUE Cazic's, divine instrument, and bring his wrath to the false worshippers!"
"I could do that. Does the divine instrument get anything in return?"
Gulthga "Even as a lower life form, you must grasp the consequences of the death of a god. Two already have come here, and the balance has been disrupted beyond repair. What do you think will happen if a third crosses the veil? Besides, you will not be acting alone."
"Actual words of wisdom from your mouth... tentacles. What do you mean I won't be alone?"
Gulthga "Did I not say you would be a divine instrument? You will go with the blessing of the true Cazic. He will guide your hand against the foul lizardmen! But you must hit them where it counts. Enter their facade of a temple, decimate their forces, and relieve their leader of his head. That should put a stop to their little power play."
"I never miss a chance to kill lizardmen!"
Gulthga has granted you a blessing of Cazic Thule.
[94] Fortunes Turned
-Kill lizardmen within the Temple of the Faceless. ( 6 ) (oh-yah~ 卡住了~)(單人或者團隊副本都可以取得更新。)
-Defeat Sarinich to gain access to the upper floor of the temple.
-I must defeat the Shiverback King, Baroddas, in order to safely enter the temple itself.
-Access the lower temple grounds using the waterfall behind Phobis.
-Slay the leader of the lizardmen.
-Speak to Venekor's shade near where he was slain.
Shade of Venekor "You have defeated me mortal, but in time I will coalesce once more. Know this: In shattering my physical form, you have broken the bond. But when I return, I will once again be under his control."
"Whose control? One of the lizardmen has you bound?"
Shade of Venekor "Lizardmen! Drakizslath! As if a mere lizard could control me! It is Fear's avatar you seek... it is he that took hold of me, and he that deserves your wrath. I have played my part in this little drama, and I shall play it no more!"
"You expect me to believe that?"
Shade of Venekor "You will have no choice but to believe when you come face to face with him. He carries with him an artifact that channels his god's energy directly through his twisted form; he is a vessel in its truest sense. The one you seek is the lizardman high priest... Baelon."
"I see..."
-Now that I know the name of the true leader of the lizardmen, I should return to Gulthga. Perhaps he will know where I can find him.
Gulthga "I see no head. I require a head, Rawadar!"
"Don't get your tentacles in a twist. Does the name Baelon mean anything to you?"
Gulthga "Baelon... yes, I have heard this name. The lizardmen utter it with reverence. But it was my understanding that he was a spiritual leader, not a warrior."
"You should know spiritual leaders can often impassion their followers far more than military leaders."
Gulthga "Perhaps. I have no taste for the subtlety of clergy, nor do I suffer others to interpret my god's desires for me. If he truly sees himself as their leader, his arrogance would lead him to the Throne of Fear, which can be found just behind the Fear Portal. You know what you must do, tiny thing."
"Baelon must die."
Gulthga "I sense that this is the true Cazic's will. He will lend you strength, that you might face the false avatar. Now, seek out this Baelon, and show him what a true agent of Fear can do!"
"I will."
[94] And His Name Is...
-Defeat Bonecaller Pharinich.
-Defeat the Planar Manifestation.
-Defeat the Enraged Imp.
-Defeat the Thoughtbleeder.
-Slay Baelon and take the source of his power.
-Now the Baelo is dead, I should return to Gulthga.
Gulthga "Baelon is vanquished? Yes, I see it in your eyes. Perhaps you bear merit, despite your diminutive form. This will not stop the false Cazic, but it will take him time to rebuild the power he lost when his avatar was defeated. Time enough for the true Cazic to prepare his defenses."
"Has he released you from your pact to deal no harm to his other creations?"
Gulthga "He has not, though our cousins no longer seem intent on eradicating us either. And, in truth, it is comforting to have a piece of our home nearby, even if it is a poor paradigm of the true Plane of Fear."
"Good luck to you then. It was... bearable working with you at times. I must return to Drinal's steward with this monolith."
Gulthga "That is new. Your kind lacks the requisite auditory refinements to discern our speech. How is it that you communicate with me in perfect Thulian?"

Yulsluu 任務串
Yulsluu "Norrathian, I must speak with you."
"What is it?"
Yulsluu "It would appear that way. I didn't know that such a thing would exist here."
"It would appear that way. I didn’t know that such a thing would exist here."
Yulsluu "It shouldn't."
"How is it here, then?"
Yulsluu "I do not know, but we must close it. I will require your assistance."
"Why is that?"
Yulsluu "I do not know what will happen if I approach the portal. Realities are clashing here, and like the Fear Gate, I also do not belong here."
"I see. All right, well, where should I start?"
Yulsluu "Find someone who might know. There is a Tsol Ew not far from here who does not seem to be corrupted as the others. Find this one, and speak with him."
"A Tsol Ew? Interesting. All right, I'll see about finding him. Thank you."
[94] Open Gates
-Find the unturned Tsol Ew.
"Hail, Alzilius"
Alzilius "You not belong here."
"Ah, you CAN speak!"
Alzilius "You not belong here!!"
"Yes, you mentioned that. I know you are offended by my presence here, but I am going to need your…"
Alzilius "No! You not belong here! You don't exist here, like creatures of Fear. You like them!!"
"I’m here to help, though!"
Alzilius "So you say. But they are here for their own ends! You are not different."
"I am trying to return balance to Ethernere. I need your help, though. The Fear Gate needs to be closed."
Alzilius "It does. I am try to close it, but can feel the pull of merging worlds. I become like the others in time. I focus to try and stop this."
"You know how to close the portal, then?"
Alzilius "I do."
"All right, well, tell me how I can help, then."
Alzilius "There are beings nearby that are the result of the realities clashing together. Created by both, but belong to neither. Need their pure essence."
"What will that do?"
Alzilius "The Fear Gate exists in this world, and in its own world. In order to shut it, we need to touch both worlds at the same time. Their essence can do that, although it need to be cleansed."
"How will I cleanse it?"
Alzilius "Take them to the stone gateway. There, pure spiritual energy passes into this world. They will wash through the essences and purify them."
"The stone gateway? You must mean the druid ring – I can head there, but where will I find these beings?"
Alzilius "Near where the rift was formed when their world invaded ours. Search the bottom of cliffs for planeshifters."
"I will return when I have them."
-Collect impure essence from the planeshifters. ( 6 )
-Cleanse the essence in the druid ring.
-Return the cleansed essence to Alzilius.
Alzilius "It is you, Invader."
"It is. I have the cleansed essence that you asked for."
Alzilius "Let me have them!!"
"Ack, there! Take them!"
Alzilius "Yes yes... these are good. But there is more needed. More needed."
"What else do we need, then?"
Alzilius "The staffs."
"The staffs? What staffs?"
Alzilius "When the Gate was opened, the two staffs held the essence to open it. The staffs are in the Temple of the Faceless."
"All right, who has them?"
Alzilius "The ones like me are not like me. They servants to the Fear that is not Fear. The ritualists in Temple of the Faceless worship the wrong Fear, and they keep him strong here."
"To weaken him, we need to destroy them, then?"
Alzilius "Yes. Destroy them! They worship the wrong Fear, make him strong!"
"It seems like you might just have something against those ritualists, but let me see what I can do. I'll come back soon."
[94] Unexpected Ally
-I must enter the Temple of Faceless and collect the two staffs mentioned by Alzilius.
Alzilius "Are the ritualists dead?? Are they??"
"Yes, they're gone. And I brought back the staffs, too."
Alzilius "Very good! The wrong Fear be weaker now. This good."
"What about the staffs? Can we use them to close the Fear Gate?"
Alzilius "With the runestone."
"Wait... what runestone?"
Alzilius "The Fear Gate is protected. The enchantment around it will not allow staffs to work. The runestone put the enchantment there. It can remove enchantment."
"Okay, so, the runestone helped put a protective barrier around the Fear Gate?"
Alzilius "It did. And then it was broken. The followers of the wrong Fear shattered to keep it from being used again."
"Can we fix it?"
Alzilius "I can. You collect shards from Throne of Fear. Find all the shards, and the heart of the stone. Bring them here. I will reform the runestone."
"Okay, I'll search for the runestone pieces in the Throne of Fear. I'll come back soon."
[94] Lost Keys
-Collect the runestone pieces in the Thorn of Fear. ( 4 )
Alzilius "Bring me runestone, yes? Yes??"
"Yes, I think I found all of the pieces."
Alzilius "Good! Now let me have! I will reform the runestone!"
"Here..."
Alzilius "Now I will fix, and you will be ready."
"Wait… ready for what?"
Alzilius "The runestone is tainted by their world. This corruption will manifest when stone is reformed. It will destroy us, as we are not from its world."
"I see. I'll do my best to stop it, then. Go ahead and start reforming the stone."
Alzilius, "We can now use runestone to close the Gate."
"What is it that I need to do?"
Alzilius "First, place the runestone on the Fear Gate. Then, put staffs facing the Gate itself, one on each side. The runestone will open the way."
"All right, I'll close the gate. I'll come back when it's done."
Alzilius "The Gate! Is closed?! You do it?"
"I did. The Fear Gate is now closed. I witnessed a lot of creatures of Fear being pulled back into the collapsing gate, but it looks like a lot hasn't changed yet."
Alzilius "It will, when balance is restored. This world still is in pain, and cannot yet heal."
"Well, I'll see if I can help it do so. Farewell to you for now."
"What is it?"
Yulsluu "It would appear that way. I didn't know that such a thing would exist here."

"Okay, I'll search for the runestone pieces in the Throne of Fear. I'll come back soon."
