Chapter I - The Calling of the Guardian
第一章 - 呼喚守護者
The Great Dragon raised his head and sniffed the air, his eyes scanning the forest around him.
Though the lands were quiet, something was different. He could sense a presence approaching
from every direction, as if coalescing all around him. He walked outside the stone ring and paused,
recognizing her at last.
巨龍抬起頭，嗅了嗅空氣，他的雙眼掃視著週遭的森林。即使這片林地十分寧靜，但是總有什麼不對勁。
他可以察覺到有一股力量來自四面八方，如同萬物都受到治癒一般。他踏出了石環並停下了腳步，
在那一刻..認出了「她」。
"Greetings, Mother." he spoke in an ancient tongue.
「您好，萬物之母。」他以古老的語言說著。
She walked toward him out of the mist, her emerald gown trailing behind her. Flowers sprang up
where her feet touched the earth. "Well met, watcher. It pleases me to speak to you at last."
她穿過了迷霧走向巨龍，她翠綠色的禮服曳在身後，每當她的雙足踏出一步，地上就綻開鮮花。
「你好，看守者。很高興終於能與你交談。」
"Your presence is unexpected." he told her. "I am not used to entertaining such esteemed company."
「我未曾預料您的大駕。」巨龍說道:「我不曾懷抱著能和令人尊敬的您見面的念頭。」
She bowed her head slightly and smiled. "Long have you here within the Wakening Lands,
defending your ring against those who come here to do harm. Though you were sent in the service
of Veeshan, you have been of great benefit to me as well. For that, Woushi, you have my thanks."
她微微點頭，微笑著說:「你在甦醒之地待了那麼久，一直守衛著石環以保護這塊土地不受到任何人的侵犯。
即便遣你來此的是龍后薇仙，但對我仍然是非常大的幫助，為此，我必須向你致謝，臥西。」
"This forest is my home," he told her, "I care little for the politics and machinations of the Claws
or the Ring. That, as much as any reason, is why I accepeted this duty. Is is here that I belong,
amongst the trees and vines, protecting them from the lesser races."
「這片森林是我的家，」他對她說:「我不怎麼關心薇仙之爪和龍鱗指環內的政治與陰謀。因此，這就是為什麼我接受這個任務。
這裡是我的歸屬，待在樹林以及藤蔓旁，保護它們不受到低下種族的破壞。」
She nodded. "For many ages, the empires of Norrath battled for control of the world and have one
another in check. But as of late, some have set aside struggles against each other and have united
in an effort to aquire greater power. They began by challenging dragonkind in their lairs,
and now even dare to enter the sacred planes themselves. They steal our treasures and turn against
those they once worshiped. This blasphemy cannot be allowed to continue."
她點頭道:「許多年以來，諾瑞斯世界上的帝國們為了控制這個世界而互相爭戰。但慢慢的，他們卻不得不團結在一起以凝聚更大的力量。
他們先對位於巢穴內的龍族展開挑戰，現在甚至膽敢自行進入各個異界。他們偷走了我們的珍寶並背叛了曾經崇拜的神衹，
這種褻瀆行為不能再繼續下去了。」
He nodded. "The Claws have been unable to drive them out of our temples, I suspect you
and the others would devise some course of action."
巨龍點頭道:「薇仙之爪已經無法把他們驅離我們的神殿，我想您以及其他的神衹們該是採取些對策的時候了。」
"We have," she answered. "I Thought that if this day should ever come, I would be able to call upon my elves to serve me.
Instead, my own children have entered my plane and pillaged the eternal forest they once held sacred.
Now they worship only their own greed. So it is you. Woushi, to whom I turn in this grim hour to safeguard my legacy."
「當然，」她回答道。「我曾以為若有這麼一天到來，我能喚來我的精靈們聽從我的指引。不過，我的子民們卻進入我的異界，
並掠奪那片他們曾崇敬的永恆森林。現在，他們僅聽從內心的貪婪。因此，臥西，我將在這嚴酷的局面交付予你協助防衛我的遺產。」
The dragon paused for a moment, considering his words. "What legacy do you mean?"
巨龍停頓了一會兒，謹慎的問道:「您的遺產是?...。」
Her brow furrowed. "The times ahead will be dark ones, filled with uncertainty and strife.
The presence of the gods must be absent from these lands as the mortals face challenges unlike any they have known.
They must learn to depend upon us once again and to give us the obeisance we deserve."
她皺眉道:「不久的將來會是黑暗的，充滿著不安定和爭鬥。神衹們將會離開這片土地，而當凡人面對挑戰時這一切將超出他們的想像。
他們必須學習如何再次仰賴我們，並給予我們應得的尊敬。」
His eyes narrowed slightly, then relaxed again. "What is if you ask of me, Mother of All?"

"In this forrest grows a sacred Bloom that is touched by my plane. The gods have agreed that all
gateways accessible to the mortals must be sealed, and Rallos Zek wishes to see my Bloom destroyed.
But this cannot allow, for it holds within it powers far greater than mere teleportation. I want you to take
the Bloom of Growth far away from here, deep within the mountains of Butcherblock to wait for a sign of my return."
